What partners and users need to know about the upcoming transition

Microsoft is introducing new hosted datacentres for Dragon services, and this brings an important update for all partners and users in the EU, UK, and AU regions. Over the coming months, all Dragon Professional Anywhere, Dragon Legal Anywhere, Dragon Anywhere Mobile, Dragon Professional 16 Subscription, and Nuance Management Center (NMC) Subscription services will move to this new infrastructure. This change keeps all data within the same geographical regions and ensures that Dragon services continue to run on a modern, secure, and future‑ready platform.

What is changing

Microsoft is moving Dragon services to newly hosted datacentres, and all users will be migrated to these updated environments. The transition will take place within the same geographic boundaries, which means EU users remain in the EU and AU users remain in AU.

All existing datacentres will remain available until 31 March 2026, after which the legacy environment will be shut down.

Why the migration is happening

This move ensures that Dragon continues to operate on Microsoft’s modern cloud infrastructure, bringing several benefits:

• Continued access to new features and product improvements
• Automatic transfer of existing customisations

All user vocabularies, Auto‑Texts and Commands, and profile settings will migrate with the accounts, ensuring continuity for users.

Key timeline

Here is the planned schedule for the transition:

Replication target
We aim to have all accounts replicated in the new environments by 31 January 2026.

Dual‑running period
Both the old and new environments will run in parallel until 31 March 2026, giving partners and users time to switch over.

Mandatory cutover
All users must switch to the new environment by 31 March 2026. After this date, the old datacentre will be permanently shut down.

What partners need to do

To ensure a smooth experience for your users, please make sure to:

1. Notify your users about the migration
   They should be aware of the timeline and the need to update to the latest version.
2. Instruct users to install the newest software version
   This is required before accessing the new environment.
3. Remind users to reset their password
   When logging into the new environment for the first time, users must select the “forgotten password” option.
   Existing passwords will not work in the new setup.
4. Communicate that customisations will migrate
   Users will keep their commands, vocabularies, and settings.
5. Share the correct support information
